Just Turf It

The Turf Field Community is also getting involved in events to help clean up the fields. Our first event will be to refurbish the Walter F. Williams monument and relandscape the surrounding area.

The turf committee is looking for volunteers and donations to help us refurbish the Walter F. Williams monument this summer. Contact us at info@justturfit.org to get involved. Green Thumbs, Extra Hands and community spirit welcomed!

Update July 1st 2006 - The plaque is being refurbished, the monument had to be leveled and we are considering moving the location to closer to the parking lot, where the old field house was, for more people to see on their way on to the field. We have a donated stone to affix the refurbished plaque to and we have a landscape architect is preparing the drawings. Check back soon for the announcement for the rededication ceremony.

Update June 9th 2006 - thrilled by the offer to refurbish - the school groundskeepers remove the overgrown shrubs and remove the plaque to expose the blank slate we will rededicate!
