Current Field Conditions

The location of Walter F. Williams field is fantastic. Having Argyle Park as a back drop and the proximity of our village businesses provide a one of kind experience for watching sporting events and visiting our local business after the event.
The facts are simple though. The playing conditions and its physical appearance cannot compare to its surroundings. The aerial view of the field shows the wear and tear this field receives each year just from limited use. The high school, the village and our kids deserve better.
Too many geese droppings, the large and growing sporting population of the village and the weather conditions of our location have put a tremendous burden on the field. As with many grass fields, the combination of wet or extremely dry conditions combined with the load creates a field that becomes a mud bowl or a dust bowl.
We need a field that can withstand the demands of the local and growing sporting community. We need a field that can offer more use. We need a field that can withstand local weather conditions year after year!
We have a solution but need your support!
Yes, the field can be used for football but can also be lined to support other sports but also can be used for outdoor gym activities without worrying about puddles. Below is a lighted multi-purpose field set up at RPI. This field is line without football and illustrates the different sports that can be played.

The advancements of synthetic turf have given us the opportunity to have a high traffic field but plays like a grass surface but without the worries of grass fields. The new design of synthetic surfaces remove that carpet like surface and provide a look and feel of meticulously maintained grass blades.

By combining the durability and looks of the new synthetic surfaces, we can elevate the overall appearance of the field for many years to come.
